ENTERTAIN U(NIVERSITY)
As part of the Entertain U(niversity) initiative – a series of cooking and entertaining classes taught by Four Seasons talent – Four Seasons Resort Langkawi will host a customized wine tasting experience based upon three themes:
- Pacific Rim wines including the regions of USA, Chile, Australia and New Zealand
- Old World Wonders including the regions of France, Italy and Spain
- Derrick's 5: A list of wines specially selected by Derrick Yee, Four Seasons Resort Langkawi's in-house wine specialist
Villa guests will taste the wines along with a pairing selection of international and Malaysian canapés to bring out the distinct flavours.
This class is available to villa guests only by invitation. Guests must confirm their reservation though the in-villa dining team once they receive an invite.

About the Instructor
Derrick Yee is the Restaurant Manager of Ikan Ikan, a multi-award winning restaurant at Four Seasons Resort Langkawi serving authentic Malay cuisine. He is also the Resort’s wine specialist. His interest in wines began in 2008 when he tasted a bottle of fine French wine ‘2005 Sauzet Puligny Montrachet Grand Cru’. He decided to dive deep into the diverse and complex world of wines by completing certified wine specialist courses from University of California at Davis and Wine and Spirit Education Trust in the UK. He has organised several wine pairing dinner events showcasing some of the world’s finest wine labels including Louis Roederer, Cloudy Bay, Antinori, Allegrini, Perrin & Fils and Bouchard & Fils. Derrick is a true wine connoisseur and enjoys travelling to the various wine regions around the world to enrich his knowledge and appreciation for fine wines.
