our initiatives
- Bicycles are available for guest use, including mountain, sea and electric bikes.
- Vegan and vegetarian menu items are available.
- Linens and towels are replaced every third day, unless otherwise requested.
- The Resort prioritizes sustainability, culinary excellence and cultural preservation, offering a unique destination experience for guests that highlights Mexico’s rich heritage while being environmentally conscious.
- Rancho Lola, the low-impact sustainable farm located at the Resort, invites guests to reconnect with indigenous ingredients, fostering a deeper understanding of Mexico’s distinct culinary flavours. The farm is central to the Resort’s sustainability efforts and immersive experiences. Here, guests can interact with animals, tour the farm, plant trees and enjoy a farm-to-table meal cooked by a team of chefs in the farm’s open-air kitchen.
- The property’s Grown Not Flown initiative supports the local cultivation of plants, flowers and succulents at the Xochitlan Greenhouse & Plant Nursery in addition to Rancho Lola. These flowers and succulents can be seen around the Resort’s restaurants, adorning displays at events and in guests’ rooms upon arrival.

- Reflecting deep respect for the environment, only 2% of the reserve will be developed.
- At the Discovery Centre located within the Resort, researchers and biologists share their knowledge about the area, its biodiversity and the importance of preservation.
- Resident researchers and biologists guide guests on a morning hike through the reserve, where more than 70 endemic species of flora and fauna, three species of birds, 16 mammals, 11 amphibians, and 30 reptiles all make their homes.
- Local artists and artisans are featured throughout the Resort and are supported through partnerships with philanthropic organizations Taller Maya and Ensemble Artesano, reflecting Mexico’s abundance of beautiful handcrafted fabrics, artwork and pre-Hispanic culture.
- Employees complete annual Human Trafficking Awareness training.
- Tamarindo International School (TAMIS): Created by Tamarindo’s resident biologist to offer an educational haven for children of the Resort’s employees and the surrounding town of La Manzanilla, TAMIS strives to provide critical thinking, literacy and numeracy skills in addition to nature-preservation education to children.
